I remember sitting in meetings thinking of how I had always though of an alcoholic being the person living on the streets. I think that Foster Brooks impersonations of a drunken person and Saturday Night Live's homeless man that lived in a cardboard box had something to do with my idea of what an alcoholic was like. I was one of them. I still function, I'm still and alcoholic, but I am just not an active one. Recognizing signs of alcoholism is important and unfortunately the signs can be clouded through denial. If someone has an active addict in their life they need to do the right thing and confront them from a position of love. thanks for the post.
